The Beauty of Banff National Park by Night

Lake Louise and Banff in Alberta, Canada are probably not the first places you’d think if you were looking for fitness holidays, but it really is a dramatic setting to some great outdoor activities, especially Lake Louise and surrounding mountains. You might be lucky and get some last minute cheap ski deals to this wonderful place, and it’s well worth it.

There is a large chateau built by the Canadian Pacific Railway which sits by the edge of the glorious emerald-coloured Lake Louise. With the backdrop of the towering mountains, this area could almost be straight from the imagination of a landscape artist.

Once you’ve taken in the breathtaking scenery, you can finally knuckle down with some great things to do. It goes without saying that the Lake Louise Ski Area is full of fantastic runs to keep you exhilarated.

Take the lift to the peak and experience “The Ultimate Steeps”. There are blacks and double blacks with some incredibly hard skiing to keep the most extreme of skiers entertained.

If that wasn’t enough for you, you could take a day trip on the bus to nearby Banff for some more excellent skiing. Not only this, if you stay in the area by night and are very lucky, you may even get to see the magnificent northern lights. However, if not, then seeing the moon and stars over the frozen lakes in the Banff national park is one of the spine-tingling moments which just can’t be captured effectively on camera. While you’re there, take a break from skiing, and take a hike through the national park and experience this heart-stoppingly beautiful scenery.
